Wake-up call: Patriots camp Day 3

Every day of the New England Patriots training camp, we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.

9:15 a.m. ET -- Practice (open to the public)

Approx. 11:30 p.m. ET -- Player interviews

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and temperatures eventually reaching into the low 80s.

Saturday marks the team's first full-pads practice and is expected to feature extensive red zone work, which has been a theme from the first two days of non-pads practices.

Among the areas we'll be following closely in practice:

  1. Offensive linemen as they practice with contact for the first time as that important competition at center and right guard rises to another level.

  2. Defensive linemen in 1-on-1 pass-rush drills.

  3. Defensive lineman Vince Wilfork's level of participation as he practices in full pads for the first time since his ruptured Achilles injury Sept. 29.

  4. Running game with backs Stevan Ridley, Brandon Bolden, Shane Vereen, James White, Jonas Gray and Stephen Houston looking to distinguish themselves in pads.
