BC hoops welcomes two transfers

At the end of the day, it looks like it will be two out, two in for Boston College men’s hoops this offseason.

Forward Ryan Anderson and guard Joe Rahon decided to transfer (to Arizona and St. Mary’s, respectively) after BC cut ties with former coach Steve Donahue and brought in Jim Christian to replace him. And now Christian has replenished the roster by bringing in forward Aaron Brown and guard Dimitri Batten (from Southern Miss and Old Dominion, respectively).

Christian announced the additions of Batten and Brown on Thursday, the first day of individual workouts.

Batten, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound native of Newport News, Virginia, graduated from Old Dominion this summer after averaging 11.0 points and 4.2 rebounds in 27.3 minutes a game for the Monarchs in 2013-14. He scored in double figures 23 times last season, and had a career-high 25 points against NC Central.

Brown, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound native of Hackensack, New Jersey, graduated from Southern Miss (after starting his college career at Temple), where he averaged 10.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 27.2 minutes a game for the Golden Eagles in 2013-14. He shot 38.0 percent on 3-pointers last season, and shot 41.5 percent on 3s in limited action for the Owls in 2011-12.

Both players have one season of eligibility remaining and can play immediately for BC.
