BC hoops works defense; Diallo onboard

The World Cup kicked off on Thursday, but while the soccer action in Brazil may have brought some people’s productivity levels to a standstill -- admit it, you snuck a look, didn’t you? -- the work must go on.

For Jim Christian and the BC Eagles men's basketball team on Thursday, that work was on defense.

After the session, Christian tweeted that he was pleased with the effort:

Coincidentally, BC also welcomed a possible impact defender to the fold on Thursday:

Idrissa Diallo, who originally committed to Cal before reopening his recruitment after a coaching change, becomes the first official member of BC’s 2014 class, according to Recruiting Nation.

A Senegal native who moved to Los Angeles in 2011, the 6-foot-11 Diallo is described as “potentially an elite-level shot-blocker” in the scouting report on his Recruiting Nation page.

The Eagles certainly could use some work (and some help) on D, finishing 2013-14 ranked No. 298 in adjusted defensive efficiency (111.4 points allowed per 100 possessions) according to kenpom.com.
