Se'Von Pittman to transfer from Ohio State

Ohio State is looking for help along its defensive line this spring after losing all four starters from the 2012 team.

Redshirt freshman defensive end Se'Von Pittman won't be filling one of the spots.

The team confirmed to multiple media outlets Tuesday that Pittman has asked for and received his release from the team. He'll look to transfer.

Pittman enrolled early last year at Ohio State but sustained a knee injury in spring practice and redshirted the season. An ESPN 150 recruit, Pittman originally committed to Michigan State before switching his pledge to the Buckeyes. The Columbus Dispatch reports that an off-field issue led to Pittman's departure, and that Louisville is a potential destination for the defensive lineman.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer notes that Pittman's departure puts Ohio State's scholarship count at 82, its NCAA-mandated limit for the season.
