Despite being dominated in recent years on the football field, some Michigan fans still like to think of Michigan State as "little brother" and not even a true rival.
But do nonrivals usually get the vandalized statue treatment?

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, who has had plenty to say about the in-state rivalry over the years, responded this way:
Mark Dantonio was just asked about the Spartan statue being vandalized ... "We all have our issues, I guess, to deal with."

We suppose it's some sort of revenge for what happened in the fall. And no, we're not talking about MSU's 35-11 romp on the field. But rather this ...
OK, so they're even now. Can we stop with the vandalized school property now? Either that, or these two universities can just be extra cautious, as USC is before the annual game with rival UCLA.
