Big 12 recruiting scorecard

Here's the latest on the recruiting trail in the Big 12.

BAYLOR

Total commits: 8

ESPN300 commits: 5

The latest: The Bears added Frisco (Texas) Lone Star safety Chris Miller to its pledge list this week. Miller picked BU over Nebraska, Wisconsin and others. Four of BU's eight commitments are defensive backs.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 0

ESPN300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cyclones joined the pursuit of junior college running back Mark Thompson. ISU offered the Dodge City (Kansas) prospect who, at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, brings a terrific combination of size and speed to the table. Florida, Iowa and Louisville are among the other schools who have offered the juco prospect.

KANSAS

The latest: The Jayhawks landed a commitment after their spring game as Arlington (Texas) Timberview receiver Braylon Royal picked KU. His combination of speed and acceleration could make him a terrific fit in a Jayhawks offense that plans to play several different receivers under David Beaty.

KANSAS STATE

ESPN300 commits: 0

The latest: The Wildcats offered Houston Langham receiver Quartney Davis last week. The 6-3, 181-pound receiving target also holds offers from Texas Tech, California, Houston and Kansas.

OKLAHOMA

ESPN300 commits: 1

The latest: OU landed a commitment from Tyler (Texas) junior college receiver Ryan Parker on Sunday. Parker signed with TCU in 2014 before ending up at Tyler. The Sooners also joined the laundry list of schools in pursuit of Wichita (Kansas) East defensive end Xavier Kelly. OU joined TCU, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Florida State, Oregon and others on the offer list of the No. 164 player in the ESPN300. Kelly boasts 26 total offers.

OKLAHOMA STATE

ESPN300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cowboys offered Baylor commit Grayland Arnold last week. The Kountze (Texas) cornerback could be considered a sleeper prospect as the Bears and Cowboys are the lone offers for the relatively unknown recruit.

TCU

Total commits: 8

ESPN300 commits: 4

The latest: The Horned Frogs offered San Antonio (Texas) Jay athlete Moses Reynolds last week. Reynolds plays quarterback for Jay but could be a fit at various positions in college with his quickness and ability to change direction.

TEXAS

ESPN300 commits: 2

The latest: New Orleans (Louisiana) Brother Martin tight end Peyton Aucoin visited the 40 acres this week. Aucoin boasts offers from Arizona State, NC State and others. An unranked prospect with an average offer list, Aucoin is a clear example of the Longhorns going after players they feel will fit into their program as opposed to only pursuing hyped recruits with lengthy offer lists.

TEXAS TECH

ESPN300 commits: 0

The latest: The Red Raiders would like to add immediate help at receiver in this class, offering junior college receiver Dequan Bowman. The Hutchinson (Kansas) junior college prospect boasts Tech as his lone offer thus far.

WEST VIRGINIA

ESPN300 commits: 0

The latest: WVU hosted several recruits during its Gold-Blue spring game including Devin Studstill, Josh Ball and Phil Campbell. Devin Studstill could follow in the footsteps of his dad Darren was a starting quarterback for the Mountaineers in the early 1990s. Devin is a three-star safety who boasts offers from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Miami (Florida) and others.
