Oklahoma State takes a big step with its class while the rest of the Big 12 hits the road to recruit. Here's the latest from the trail:
BAYLOR
Total commits: 7
The latest: The Bears secured a big-time pledge last week from one of the best linemen in Texas, offensive tackle J.P. Urquidez from nearby Copperas Cove. The 6-foot-7, 299-pound lineman chose Baylor over offers from Texas, Oklahoma and Miami. He played his junior year at DeMatha Catholic in Maryland as a junior, but elected to stay much closer to home with his commitment.
IOWA STATE
Total commits: 0
The latest: The Cyclones still have zero commitments at the end of spring ball, but at least they have found their target at quarterback. Independence (Missouri) Ft. Osage's Skylar Thompson was the first quarterback to land an ISU offer this spring after throwing for the staff recently. Thompson also holds Kansas and Wake Forest offers and could make a decision later this spring.
KANSAS
Total commits: 1
The latest: The Jayhawks' pursuit of elite 2017 running back Najee Harris was admirable, and getting him to take multiple trips to Kansas' campus was a heck of a coup. But Harris shut down his recruiting over the weekend with a commitment to Alabama. The Antioch, California, back had more than a dozen major offers and could end up being a five-star talent in next year's class. You have to give kudos to David Beaty's staff for at least getting in the mix.
KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 1
The latest: K-State has taken the lead for one of its biggest target at running back, Tre Bryant. The St. Louis back put the Wildcats atop his list after a recent unofficial visit, but isn't expected to make a decision until the fall. Over the weekend, he took a visit to Missouri's spring game.
OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 3
The latest: Orlando (Florida), guard Parker Boudreaux held more than 50 offers by the middle of his junior season, but last week he managed to trim his list of schools to 10. The Sooners made the cut along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Southern, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Penn State after Boudreaux enjoyed his unofficial visit to Norman this spring.
OKLAHOMA STATE

The latest: The Pokes' class is really starting to take off and doubled in size last week thanks to the addition of quarterback Nick Starkel and a pair of spring-game pledges, Lancaster (Texas) ATH Tyrell Alexander and Shreveport (Louisiana) Calvary Baptist cornerback Rodarius Williams. Starkel is a private school quarterback from the Dallas Fort-Worth area who might end up being a steal -- his only other FBS offers were Tulane and Old Dominion.
TCU

The latest: The Horned Frogs are in great shape with coveted junior college receiver Taj Williams. TCU coaches were able to make an early stop to Iowa Western during the evaluation period and should be able to get Williams on campus for a visit in the summer. He recently took a visit to Nebraska's spring game, but TCU was No. 1 on the top 10 he released last month. The Frogs also have a shot at receiver Tyrie Cleveland, who de-committed from Texas A&M last week.
TEXAS

The latest: The Longhorns were able to host quarterback commit Shane Buechele on Saturday for their spring game, as well as coveted defensive tackle Mike Williams, ATH Christian Wallace, cornerback Eric Cuffee and an intriguing out-of-state target, Aurora (Colorado) tight end Jack Stoll. Texas is pursuing a handful of tight end prospects, and Stoll's only other Power 5 offers are from Nebraska and Colorado.
TEXAS TECH

The latest: Tech picked up a nice pledge for its offensive line with Houston-area tackle Giovanni Pancotti last week, but also parted ways with the first member of its 2016 class, Katy (Texas) safety Collin Wilder. He had been pledged to TTU since the summer of 2014 and is now considering offers from Houston, Northwestern, Duke and Tulane.
WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 7
The latest: The Mountaineers host their spring game this weekend and should have a handful of important prospects in town, including receiver Steven Smothers, safety Dylan Studstill and tackle Josh Ball. Smothers has an impressive list of offers, but appears to have WVU in the lead at the moment.
