Big 12 recruiting scorecard

It was a good week on the recruiting trail for Oklahoma, who could have landed its quarterback of the future. Here's what is new in Big 12 recruiting this week.

BAYLOR

Total commits: 6

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3

The latest: The Bears' class took a blow with the decommitment of Houston (Texas) Westside defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. The No. 75 player in the ESPN JR300, Elliott was considered one of the cornerstones of the class before his decision to re-open his recruitment. He has a laundry list of offers including Oregon, Alabama, USC, Texas, Texas A&M and others but the Bears remain in the mix.

IOWA STATE

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cyclones added their name to the list of schools in hot pursuit of Lancaster (Texas) athlete Tyrell Alexander. Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia are among the schools who have already offered Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect who has the size and athleticism to play offense or defense in college.

KANSAS

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Highly regarded Class of 2017 running back Najee Harris made his second unofficial visit to KU in a matter of months, checking out the Jayhawks' spring drills this week. The Antioch (California) running back already boasts offers from Alabama, Michigan, TCU, USC, UCLA and others. In addition, KU sent out offers to multiple players including defensive backs Jaron Bryant and Coney Durr in the past week.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Wildcats could be adding a late addition to its Class of 2015 with defensive lineman Craig Settles committing to Bill Snyder's program last week. Settles plans to visit K-State this week before cementing his plans to join the Wildcats program before the fall.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 1

The latest: The Sooners may have landed their quarterback of the future with Austin Kendall's commitment last week. The Waxhaw (North Carolina) Cuthbertson quarterback is the No. 225 player in the ESPN JR300 and spurned offers from West Virginia, Clemson, Auburn and others to pledge to OU.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: OSU continues to try to upgrade its talent in the trenches with an offer for Class of 2016 offensive guard Michael Eletise. The Honolulu (Hawaii) Kaiser prospect has offers from Florida State, UCLA, Texas Tech and others. In addition, the Cowboys offered Harris to join the long list of programs pursuing the Class of 2017 playmaker.

TCU

Total commits: 8

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3

The latest: The Horned Frogs hosted several recruits for their spring game on Friday including Texas A&M commit Tyrie Cleveland. The No. 191 player in the ESPN JR300 could be a good fit for the Horned Frogs' spread attack. TCU also offered junior college cornerback Maurice Chandler last week.

TEXAS

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3

The latest: Class of 2017 prospect Jeffrey Okudah received an offer from the Longhorns last week. UT joined Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, LSU, Florida, Michigan and others in the pursuit of Okudah.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 4

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Emoree Giddens added his name to the Red Raiders' commit list, picking coach Kliff Kingsbury's program last week. The El Paso (Texas) Coronado offensive tackle is the lone lineman -- on offense or defense -- on the Red Raiders' commit list.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 7

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Mountaineers' stepped up their pursuit of Class of 2017 running back Kyshaun Bryan, offering the Plantation (Florida) American Heritage prospect over the weekend. Bryan already boasts offers from Florida, Florida State, Florida Atlantic and Miami (Fla.).
