Big 12 recruiting scorecard

No new commitments in Big 12 country last week, but there's still plenty going on in the recruiting game. Here's the latest:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 7

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 4

The latest: Baylor brought in an intriguing 2017 target for its final spring practice last week: Loren Mondy. The linebacker who recently transferred to Lake Ridge High in Mansfield, Texas, is committed to Arizona State but is drawing more interest from the Bears, who've yet to offer. Mondy also holds offers from Cal, Kansas and Texas State.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 0

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cyclones found a last-second steal for their class in running back Sheldon Croney. Now they're making a move for one of his teammates. Lawrence White, an athlete out of Bakersfield (California) Ridgeview who played quarterback as a junior, was recently offered by ISU and is being recruited as a defensive back. White also holds offers from Colorado State and Nevada.

KANSAS

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Jayhawks are making an effort to get the area's best players on campus to watch spring practice, which paid off when defensive end Amani Bledsoe took a recent unofficial visit to Lawrence. The ESPN 300 standout has offers from the likes of Ohio State, Oregon, Florida State, UCLA and most of the Big 12, though he isn't expected to make a decision until his senior season.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: You don't see one of California's top prospects visiting Manhattan too often, but K-State did host big offensive lineman Nathan Smith for an unofficial visit last week. The 6-foot-7 tackle from Murrieta, California, holds nearly 30 offers and got a chance to check out the Wildcats' staff and facilities as part of a nine-school road trip.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: No 2016 recruit in the country claims to have more offers than Parker Boudreaux. The ESPN 300 offensive guard with a whopping 66 offers traveled from Orlando for an unofficial visit to Oklahoma last week, and the Sooners reportedly made a big impression. Bordeaux will take a lot more trips before his recruiting process is done, but it seems OU helped its chances of getting an official visit in the fall.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Among the many recruits who visited OSU last week, Taven Birdow is worth watching. The athlete from IMG Academy in Florida is the son of former OSU player Jermaine Birdow and already holds an offer from Tulsa. If the Pokes were to offer, you'd think they'd move right to the top of his list.

TCU

Total commits: 8

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3

The latest: The Frogs are in great shape to land another ESPN 300 talent to this impressive class. Running back Trayveon Williams, the nation's No. 295 rated recruit, released his top 10 late last month and it included TCU along with four other Big 12 programs. He took a trip to Fort Worth in mid-March and is looking to play in a spread offense like the one the Frogs are rolling with, so he could be a heck of a fit.

TEXAS

Total commits: 4

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3

The latest: Texas is trying to steal two of Waco's finest right out of Baylor's backyard. Defensive backs Eric Cuffee and Parrish Cobb took another unofficial visit to Austin on Friday, and this time the Horns did extend an offer to Cobb. Cuffee's offer list has exploded this spring, and Cobb is reportedly focusing on Baylor, UT, Oklahoma, TCU and Oregon at the moment.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Since landing an offer from Texas Tech, defensive back Chanse Sylvie has really seen his recruitment blow up. He's up to more than 20 offers and recently took visits to Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Tennessee. But the Red Raiders being his second-ever offer is an advantage that could keep them in the running and at least lead to a visit to Lubbock.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 7

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Mountaineers' latest offer went to Palm Beach (Florida) Dwyer wide receiver Isaiah Johnson, who committed to Florida last month. There's a staff connection to this offer -- running backs coach JaJuan Seider came from the same high school Johnson attended last year -- but for now Johnson remains solid with his pledge to the Gators.
