Mixed results for wide receiver Torrey Smith

It was a day of mixed results for wide receiver Torrey Smith, and it really had nothing to do with his right knee injury.

In 51 snaps played Sunday, Smith finished with two catches, one drop and one holding penalty. The biggest impact he made in the game was drawing a 30-yard pass interference penalty in the third quarter.

Smith, though, didn't show any signs of being limited by a knee injury that sidelined him for two practices last week.

“It felt great to be back out there," Smith said. "At first it was tough to get in the flow of the game, and I am a rhythm guy, but particularly in the second half, I started to feel more comfortable. The knee felt great, and it feels good to get a team victory."

Some were surprised that Smith lined up for his 62nd straight game, which is the third-longest active streak on the Ravens. A local newspaper reported that Smith wasn't expected to play. On Sunday, no wide receiver played more snaps than Smith.

"Contrary to what was reported, he did look pretty good today, didn’t he?" coach John Harbaugh said. "So, we’re proud of that."

Whether it was related to the injury or not, the Ravens didn't try to stretch the field with Smith. He runs an average of three routes over 20 yards per game. He had only one Sunday against Jacksonville.
