Harbaugh's tough luck with celebrations

The Baltimore Ravens' John Harbaugh has had little to complain about in terms of his results as an NFL head coach. He has a Super Bowl ring and sports one of the best winning percentages among active coaches.

When it comes to on-field celebrations, well, let's say Harbaugh has endured some tough times. In trying to do a flying chest bump with defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, Harbaugh nearly was flattened by the 340-pound lineman in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's 26-6 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After Ngata's interception in the fourth quarter, Harbaugh went airborne with the Pro Bowl defensive tackle. For some reason, Ngata did a two-handed shove on Harbaugh, which nearly knocked the head coach off his feet.

To his credit, Harbaugh was able to shake it off with a good sense of humor.

"I did not fall down. I flew, but I kept my balance," Harbaugh said after the game. "A lesser athlete would have been on the ground there. I want to make sure we all understand that."

Ngata took to Twitter to apologize to Harbaugh: "Wanted to say watch out when I'm hyped haha. I need to do a better job at chest bumps. My bad coach."

This isn't the first time that a player has caused Harbaugh some on-field embarrassment. It was last October when Harbaugh ran over to James Ihedibgo to celebrate his interception. Harbaugh leapt in the air, and Ihedigbo just jogged past him. Whiff.

Still, if the worst thing to happen during a game occurs on a celebration, Harbaugh will take that every time.
