          What to expect from Ravens' 2014 schedule

          The NFL is expected to announce the dates and times for the 2014 regular season this week, and there are projections that can already be made about the Baltimore Ravens' slate of games.

          As you remember from last year's NFL kickoff game controversy, the Ravens and Orioles can't play games on the same day, and the Orioles aren't inclined to alter their schedule for the Ravens.

          Based on the Orioles' schedule, here is what you can expect from the Ravens' schedule:

          • A home season opener. The Ravens will likely play Week 1 at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 7, or Monday, Sept. 8, because the baseball team is on the road those days. The Ravens have opened the season at home in three of the past four years. All three of those home openers have come against AFC North opponents.

          • Road games in Week 2 and Week 3. The Ravens are expected to play away games in Week 2 and Week 3 because the Orioles have home games on those Sundays (Sept. 14 and 21). The only way the Ravens have a home game in Week 2 is if they play on Thursday night, and the two scenarios to play at home in Week 3 are games on Thursday or Monday night.

          • Week 4 home game is available. There wouldn't be any more potential conflicts after Week 3 unless the Orioles make the playoffs. The Orioles' season ends on the road on Sept. 28, which leaves that date open for the Ravens.

          The Ravens' home and away opponents for the 2014 season have already been set:

          HOME: Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

          AWAY: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
