RB Jonas Gray not spotted at practice

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray was not present at the start of the Patriots’ practice on Friday.

Gray, who is coming off his breakout performance in Sunday night’s win against the Colts, in which he posted 201 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries, participated in both Wednesday and Thursday’s practices. He also talked with reporters on Thursday in the locker room.

It is unknown why Gray is missing from the beginning of practice. The Patriots will release an injury report later on Friday, which could provide more context about his absence.

Running back LeGarrette Blount was at practice again on Friday and was still wearing a No. 60 jersey. By league rules, Blount cannot wear No. 60 if he plays on Sunday, so he will be receiving a new jersey number. He previously wore No. 29 during his last stint with the Patriots, but that jersey is currently worn by safety and special-teamer Don Jones.

Rookie defensive lineman Dominique Easley, rookie offensive lineman Cameron Fleming and defensive end Chandler Jones were not at practice yet again. Easley was a limited participant in Wednesday’s walk-through practice, but has not joined the team for official practices this week.

The Patriots were wearing sweats and shells for Friday’s practice in cold weather.
