15 at 15: Ricky Slade

Records are made to be broken. In the class of 2018, running back Ricky Slade might have set a record or broken a record. Though the record books aren’t officially kept regarding number of offers, what is known is that Pittsburgh has verbally offered the 5-foot-9, 174-pound big time playmaker.

Why is this meaningful? Because the offer from Pittsburgh happened to be his 15th offer on his 15th birthday, which might well be a record of offers for a 15-year-old football prospect, even in the day and age of "camp offers."

The C.D. Hylton High budding star already had offers from national champion Ohio State, Clemson, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, West Virginia and home state Virginia and Virginia Tech prior to the Panthers today.

Slade will not be the first nationally recruited prospect out of C.D. Hylton High in Virginia. He will be the next in line following ESPN 300 and Ohio State signee Matt Burrell Jr. in February and ESPN 300 linebacker E.J. Levenberry Jr., who signed with Florida State in 2013 and has since transferred to Connecticut.
