It appears the Sacramento Kings are headed north to Seattle, possibly as soon as next season. Supersonics fans, still bitter about the team's move from Seattle to Oklahoma City in 2008, can barely contain their excitement and steadfastly deny they would be "stealing" the Kings the same way Oklahoma City "stole" the SuperSonics. Quibbling aside, the move would mean restoring Seattle to a three-team town with the Seahawks and Mariners and leave just the hockey fans clamoring for a team. What are NBA fans saying about the potential move? And which crazy nickname suggestion do you like?
- ShibbyHibby: "1 team down. 29 to go. Will not settle until all NBA teams are owned by Seattle and the Seattle Sonics beat the Seattle Heat in the finals."
- Cryoniclime: "With this, the Lakers will be the worst team in California."
- Micphoria: "Seattle welcome Kings, next is Coyotes."
- richandjanelle: "Seattle Reign. Most epic name ever. They need to do that."
- MasterOfXtreme93: "As a diehard Sacramento Kings fan, this is depressing. I'll miss my beloved franchise." - Absolutely no one"
- hoopsfreak91: "This is good news not only for Sonics fans, but to Gary Payton. Will finally get that jersey retired."
- slyness15617: "I can't wait for Durant to sign with us after his contract is up. COME HOME KEVIN."
- beastmodehawks85: "Don't hate the city, hate the game."
- junoNCAL: "It's hilarious how Seattle is celebrating. Have you seen the Kings play? LOL"
- LeBron - The Greatest Of All Time - James: "The Kings have only been in Sacramento since 1985. And Sacramento was the 5th city for that franchise. They don't have nearly the history that the Sonics did in Seattle from the 60s to 2008. So sorry Kings fans, but it's not the same thing as the Sonics going to OKC."
