Complete the following sentence: Lately, the Big East is where (a) college basketball dreams are born, (b) geography is entirely relative, or (c) the ACC goes shopping for new members. If you answered C, you've been paying attention, as Louisville will join the ACC, becoming the sixth Big East all-sport program to make that move. (Notre Dame is making the same jump but remains a football independent.) Were the Cardinals the ACC's best choice among remaining Big East schools to replace Maryland? Comment and vote below.
- SoccerISlife14: "Roy Williams, Jim Boeheim, Rick Pitinio and Coach K in ONE conference?! Unreal. ACC just dropped a dud in Maryland and gained Louisville who are better in Basketball AND Football. Great move."
- TXFan1987: "Smart move by the ACC. By only adding Louisville you do not have to adjust conferences and you don't water down your conference. They just need to be sure to hold Maryland close to their 50 million exit fee. If the ACC is successful then it is unlikely that FSU, Clemson, or VTech would jump to another conference."
- TateUF2011: "Good add, decent football team with Charlie Strong and really good basketball perfect fit for the ACC."
- mgd2402: "Still think if the ACC wanted stability they should have been the first to 16 teams and added UConn and Cincy to go along with Lville."
- dmj517: "I would have rather added UConn to give Cuse, BC and Pitt another traditional rival and it fits a little more geographically, but Louisville is nothing to spit at. They will make a fine addition the conference in Basketball and Football."
- Gotribe1539: "This is a really bad day for UConn. The ACC was their only hope, the B1G won't take them due to academic reasons, and the Big 12 is out of range. Cincy at least has the Big 12 to fall back on, we'll see if the offer ever comes."
- ng164300: "UCONN will definitely get picked up by someone. They have a big market which means big money."
