The Open Championship kicks off on Thursday, with Tiger Woods' group
teeing off at 9:42 a.m. local time (4:42 a.m. ET). Is Tiger the favorite at this tournament, for the first time in a long time?
GoBuckeyes495: "Some might say I'm going off on a limb but I predict Lee Westwood to win the British and take home his 1st major. Most consistent golfer in the majors the last 3 years. He's got to win some time now!"
blaz00370037: "'I'd say Tiger has a 10-15 percent chance of winning this thing. So the odds are against him. That being said, 10-15 percent is more than double the chances I would give anyone else...so although he is the clear favorite, its not doom and gloom if he doesn't win."
mike5539: "I like the field on this course, due to the bunker play and tiger not hitting straight, but at the same time I think he played this course with his Irons some years ago and won. "
heisenberg_3: "It's almost double the Masters field. More likely a guy wins from out of nowhere. But I am hoping Tiger can get it done. Weather is supposed be horrible luck of the teetimes will be a factor the 1st 2 days."
BJUddstr: "Tiger not on top of the world? He's not what he used to be? He's leading the PGA right now and eyeing up that FedEx Cup. Tell you what... even at his "worst" is this man still the one to beat. Can't wait."
