The NCAA is adopting new recruiting rules, including allowing Division I men's basketball coaches to call and text recruits an unlimited number of times. Is this a good thing?
- palmer2johnsontd: "Finally getting with the times. It took a long time but common sense finally prevailed."
- jjb7mvp: "I would hate to be a recruit nowadays. Getting bombarded with hundreds of texts and calls from coaches."
- kwmidwest: "Starting Friday, things will be the same as they've always been."
- halfboxster28: "it may be 'getting with the times' but this will be hell for the high school kids. as soon as they're done their sophomore year they'll get bombarded with texts, messages, and phone calls everyday. the only people this benefits is the coaches and AD's, as if they don't already have enough power. "
- hebajeba: "This is good for the schools & coaches...but what about the blue-chip recruits?"
- iuhoosier47951: "You all think that this is going to be some sort of horror for high school kids. But, remember.. They are in control. They can ignore the calls/texts/internet messages. Also, what is completely being lost here is... this gives recruits a better chance to interact with coaches and get to know them before they make a decision. "
