There's nothing like a little Twitter back-and-forth to spice up the NFL preseason. On Tuesday night the Cardinals made Patrick Peterson the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL:
Happy to announce my 5 year extension with
@AZCardinals! $70M and $48M Guaranteed!!

July 30, 2014 Eight minutes later, Richard Sherman hinted at his superiority by retweeting this:
Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson combined to allow 8 touchdown passes in 2013. Peterson gave up seven of those.

July 30, 2014 Peterson's reaction? A play on Sherman's infamous "You Mad Bro?" tweet:
Yu mad bro!!!! LMAO=====-
— Patrick Peterson (@RealPeterson21)
July 30, 2014 But Sherman may have pulled the ultimate trump card by posting a photo of his massive Seahawks Super Bowl ring:
Can't ever be too mad lmao...

July 30, 2014 ... Complete with a Drake lyric subtweet:
"Coming at me never work no matter who try"-Drake

July 30, 2014 "Sometimes it seems like he's a little salty about it. But it is what it is. I don't have any problems with Richard," Peterson
told reporters on Wednesday. Since both cornerbacks seem to be taking a break from social punches (for now), let's revisit Round 1 of their Twitter battle. When Sherman signed his $57.4 million contract extension in May, Peterson expressed his interest in making just as much -- if not more -- and was met with sharp commentary from Sherman:
Want what I got? Get the stats I got! Least targeted.

May 13, 2014 Never confuse Potential with Production! In the game of Life winners win. Loser say what if.

May 23, 2014 Peterson went to the tape to make his point:
That's what I always see someone helping. Last I check a lockdown corner is when it's him and WR.

May 23, 2014 But at the end of the day, Sherman was all about the numbers:
Lockdown everywhere but the field

May 23, 2014 Can we get these two on a reality series?
