Players from Premier League's Arsenal try New York accents, are (mostly) terrible
Jul 21, 2014 01:11 PM
American soccer is getting a little English this summer, with a number of Premier League clubs making post-World Cup, preseason trips to the United States to take on MLS teams.

Coming this Saturday: 13-time English champion Arsenal, which will face former Gunner Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls at 5 p.m. ET (ESPN2/WatchESPN).

To celebrate the team's first-ever trip to Gotham, first-teamers Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, Serge Gnabry and Mathieu Flamini tried their hands at Noo Yawk accents. The results ... well, you can guess. Englishmen Gibbs and Jenkinson aren't totally awful, nor is German Gnabry, but Frenchman Flamini might not want to give up his day job as midfield enforcer.

Now here's hoping manager Arsene Wenger breaks into a Travis Bickle when asked about transfers at his news conference.
