For 10-year-old basketball enthusiast Amaris Jackson, the Washington Wizards' biggest move this season had little to do with the draft or trades or the team's playoff push. On Saturday the Wizards, working with the Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic Foundation,
signed Jackson -- who is fighting renal cell carcinoma, a rare cancer of the kidney -- to a one-day contract before their home game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
It made for an unforgettable day for Jackson. She signed her contract with owner Ted Leonsis and GM Ernie Grunfeld, received and wore a personalized No. 10 Wizards jersey,
interacted with coaches and players at their shootaround, shot around herself with the team before the game and was introduced along with the starting lineup.
