so anderson silva wants to fight a guy thats smaller and weighs less, what a wimp, of course anderson silva wants to fight GSP instead of jon jone.

GSP is a great fighter, one of the best to ever fight but Condit should not be overlooked. He's younger, hungrier, and GSP is coming off a major knee injury. This is NOT a gimme for GSP. Lets not count our chickens before they hatch?

GSP has more discipline than any fighter Diaz ever faced so I don't think GSP will be taken out of his game plan by Diaz' schoolyard tactics. GSP wins that easy.

Ummm...he's fighting Carlos Condit, not Diaz.

Gsp cannot beat Nick Diaz, let alone the world best p4p in Anderson Silva. The UFC is reaching by branding this a "super fight"

Nick Diaz? LOL. He'd make an awesome humping bag for a unanimous decision for GSP.

GSP can and will beat Nick (420) Diaz, when they ever fight.

I just find it laughable that some of the people on here who claim they know a lot about MMA and watch the sport for a long time think that GSP actually has a chance to beat Silva. Silva would eat GSP kids man lets be real GSP doesnt even want to it with Silva because he know he will lose.

Bones jones would duck both of these fighters.

People assume GSP will lose to silva easily. If GSP stand and trade punches with Silva, then I would agree, but GSP is a lot smarter than people obviously give him credit for. GSP WILL NOT trade punches with silva. He knows how dominant silva is with his stand up boxing, he's not a fool. He also knows how successful sonnen was with silva when it comes to taking him down. GSP wins close by decision. Lots and lots of takedown will cripple silva.

To say that GSP can stand with Silva is CRAZY!! GSP doesnt have enough power for Silva to respect his standup. Silva would murder him standing up based off pure respect of power. GSP would not take the chance of getting caught up. Either way tho I dont see GSP being able to hold Silva down. The key would be the first time Silva touches GSP and we all know it will happen. I dont believe GSP's chin could take that.

Sonnen is alot bigger then GSP which would allow him an opportunity to control Anderson. GSP is not big enough to hold Silva down, and I dont believe that Silva would worry about GSP's sub game either.

see simpleguy is the person i was talking about when i said guys who claim to know MMA and your saying GSP will take Silva down at will because a guy did it before in 2 fights and lost both fights silva will time the take down and give gsp a knee to the face like he did to Sonnon and Bonnar. get out of here with this nonsense

You forget GSP doesn't have the same size and power that Sonnen has. If the fight is at 185 I see GSP struggling to get Silva to the ground and keep him there. Maybe GSP wins the first round, but it ends soon after that.

i'm not going to say gsp can stand and trade with silva, but gsp's stand up is light year's ahead of sonnen. i would honestly say the wrestling might be similar in dominance. the fight ain't happening lower than 185, so gsp will be able to maintain a little bit of size and strength by not having to cut any weight. but then again, does he even cut much weight to make 170? anyway... my point is i think gsp actually can get silva down and keep him there, and to add to it, he has better jiu jitsu skills (defense) than sonnen. gsp's stand up will force silva to worry about both aspects (stand up/ground game). with sonnen, he only had to worry about the ground game.

people tend to elevate fighters over time and gsp has a legendary status, but why exactly? his greatest wins came over a slow washed up matt hughes and bj penn who's basically a 155 pound fighter. the 170 pound class is weak to say the least and anderson will destroy gsp as soon as he's done toying with him. the one thing gsp has is his elusiveness which could frustrate anderson for a little bit, but gsp doesn't have the power to put down anderson even if he was able to land some good shots. the greatest fight the ufc has to offer right now is silva vs jones.

I dont think the 170 class is weak but i dont think GSP is stronger then silve to the point where he will just hold silva down it wont happen! if this fight does go down i will call silva 2nd round tko!. oh and lets not forget GSP cant take a punch!

The last thing ANY of you morons can do, especially the "non-fighters" with REAL knowledge of fighting, is count ANYONE out. GSP can beat anyone, so can Silva. Plenty of fighters have beat an opponent 20 pounds heavier. Both of these guys have NEVER fought anyone like each other because theres no one like them, except them. And just because I love underdogs, I will take GSP to win. Its not out of reach at all... Easy actually.

Please explain why it would be so easy. Yes anybody can win at any given time, but help me to understand where GSP has a big enough advantage to win??

I actually believe Silva would 'toy' w/ St. Pierre. and make it look easy. It would be disappointing to a lot of people, but St. Pierre is still top 5 fighter in the world.

The things that no one is talking about are most glaring to me. First Condit vs Gsp: Condit doesn't seem to be the same killer anymore, maybe it was due to him joining Jackson's camp, but he ran from Diaz the whole fight. That approach will hurt him vs gsp. Second gsp vs the spider: simply put gsp can't stand with him and ground and pound has proven to be fruitless against him in the past do to hos bjj, not to mention his improved takedown def (look at sonnen rematch). Though I want to see it this isn't a good match up for gsp. I give him the respect he deserves and say he has a punchers chance like anyone else.

Age catches up with everyone eventually. Who knows how the spider will look in a year. Don't count gsp out

I would have to disagree, Carlos Condit is a former wec champion he curently holds the ufc record for all champions with the highest knock out percentage...he will not only knock you out or submit you...but he is as technical as gsp who wins most his fights by decisions...and who is coming back from knee surgery... I think this fight will be a thriller and wont be surprised if Condit wins...this fight is a Champion vs Champion fight....ufc vs wec.... And I know what u will say, wec was nothing to the ufc...but count how many current ufc champions came from the wec and u will see that Condit has a chance.
