I knew Sherman when we were both students at Old Dominion University. We were both on the ODU wrestling team. I was a walk-on that took a semester of punishment to realize it was time to hang up my wrestling shoes, he was one of the top heavyweights on the team. For such a big guy, he was as kind as anyone I had ever met. Everyone liked him, he was a good man.
