I knew Sherman when we were both students at Old Dominion University. We were both on the ODU wrestling team. I was a walk-on that took a semester of punishment to realize it was time to hang up my wrestling shoes, he was one of the top heavyweights on the team. For such a big guy, he was as kind as anyone I had ever met. Everyone liked him, he was a good man. 297 Days ago

Very sad to hear of Sherman's passing. This man truly represented what it means to be a fighter. My thoughts and condolences are with his family during this extremely difficult time. 301 Days ago

45 is just entirely too young to die. I pray that someday doctors will find a cure for this wicked disease that is cancer. RIP to Sherman and condolences to his family and friends. 303 Days ago

The good always die young. Meanwhile we're stuck here with a-holes like that nut who decided to massacre men women and children in a movie theater. 304 Days ago

Almost 30 fights and still fought this year. Sounds like he was a hell of a competitor. R.I.P. 304 Days ago
